Ospitalita' del Conte Hotel & Spa
We were drawn to the wellness floor here: a hammam, a steam bath, sauna, whirlpool...
On Piazza Regina Margherita, a short walk from Olbia's Corso Umberto, Kkult Boutique Hotel & Spa keeps to a deliberately small footprint: six rooms, each decorated on its own terms rather than pulled from a single template, stacked above a rooftop terrace built for watching the old town settle into evening. The name promises more wellness than a city hotel this size usually delivers, and it follows through with on-site massages rather than a spa sign left over the door. It is boutique in the literal sense, small enough that the staff can actually know who is staying.
We chose Kkult because it does something a lot of city-centre hotels talk about and few actually deliver: individuality, room by room. Six guestrooms, each with its own character, sit above a square at the heart of Olbia, with a rooftop terrace and on-site massages that push the hotel past a simple overnight stop. Guest ratings sit consistently high, and the hotel's size works in its favour here, a small property that can hold a consistent standard more easily than a sixty-room block ever could.
Piazza Regina Margherita puts Corso Umberto, Piazza Matteotti and the Olbia Seafront all within a few minutes on foot, and the National Archaeological Museum and the Basilica of San Simplicio are close enough to fold into a morning walk. The port is under two kilometres away, useful for ferry connections, and Costa Smeralda Airport is a short drive, which keeps this as sensible a base for a quick city turnaround as for the first or last night of a longer Sardinian trip. Pittulongu Beach is a short drive north for anyone who wants the coast without leaving the city as a base.

Rather than repeating one design across the building, each of the six rooms is decorated on its own terms, though all share the same practical core: a minibar, a flat-screen TV, a desk and a private bathroom with a shower and bidet. Daily housekeeping keeps the small scale feeling cared for rather than skeletal, and the room count means a stay here always has the feel of a specific room rather than an interchangeable category. It is a hotel built for people who notice the difference between a room and a room with a story.
With only six rooms, Kkult books out quickly during Olbia's busier travel weeks, so this is not a last-minute city-break pick. On-site parking is limited, which matters in a dense piazza-front location, and guests arriving by car should plan ahead for where to leave it. Room service runs on limited hours rather than around the clock, and breakfast is served at a fixed charge rather than included, both worth factoring into a short stay built around flexibility.

What convinced us is a spa that goes further than most city hotels bother to:...
Our pick here comes down to a reception fireplace and a library that make this...
