Ospitalita' del Conte Hotel & Spa
We were drawn to the wellness floor here: a hammam, a steam bath, sauna, whirlpool...
On Via Acquedotto Romano, a few minutes from Olbia's old centre, this six-level hotel built in 2009 across two linked buildings keeps fifty-eight rooms deliberately unshowy, memory foam mattresses, soundproofing and rainfall showers rather than oversized suites. What sets it apart sits one floor down: a full-service spa running deep-tissue, sports, Ayurvedic and hydrotherapy treatments through a hammam, sauna and steam room, alongside a seasonal outdoor pool for the warmer months. It is a hotel that puts its investment into recovery rather than lobby square footage, and it shows, right down to the library tucked off reception for guests who would rather read than scroll between treatments.
We chose this hotel because the spa is a genuine destination in its own right, a hammam and Ayurvedic treatments are not standard issue at this price point, rather than a sauna tucked behind the gym. The seasonal pool and poolside bar add a reason to stay on site between treatments, and guests consistently rate the cleanliness and staff among the best in central Olbia. It is a hotel built for travellers who treat a city stay as a chance to actually rest, not just a base to sleep between day trips, and the single treatment room keeps the spa personal rather than running guests through on a schedule.
The Church of San Paolo is three minutes on foot and Corso Umberto about five, which keeps the old town's shops and restaurants close without placing the hotel in the thick of the evening crowds. Olbia Airport is roughly ten minutes by car, a short transfer on either end of a stay, and the seafront and port are both within easy reach for anyone adding a boat trip or a ferry connection. It works equally well as a wellness-led weekend base or as a quiet landing point before heading further up the coast, and the surrounding streets stay residential enough that evenings here feel unhurried rather than touristic.

Amenities: full-service spa (hammam, sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy), seasonal outdoor pool, library, rainfall showers

From the Classic Single to the Junior Suite, every room shares the same practical backbone: memory foam mattresses, soundproofing, a 32-inch screen, a minibar and a desk, with rainfall showerheads and bidets in every bathroom. The Superior Double and Junior Suite add a terrace and a partial sea view, useful upgrades for a longer stay, but even the Standard categories are built around rest rather than space. It is a room range that matches the hotel's priorities: recovery first, extras second, and the soundproofing in particular is worth noting for anyone sensitive to street noise in a city-centre address.
The pool runs seasonally, mid-May to mid-September, so a winter stay is about the spa and the location rather than poolside time. Spa treatments require reservations, worth arranging ahead of arrival during busier weeks, and breakfast is charged separately rather than included. Covered parking is available but charged and needs reserving in advance, which matters in a dense central Olbia street, and travellers without a car will find the airport, station and old town all comfortably reachable on foot or by a short taxi ride.

Our pick here comes down to a reception fireplace and a library that make this...
What won us over here is the scale: six individually decorated rooms above Piazza Regina...
