Ospitalita' del Conte Hotel & Spa
We were drawn to the wellness floor here: a hammam, a steam bath, sauna, whirlpool...
Six floors up, on Via Giuseppe Mazzini in the middle of Olbia, Hotel Panorama earns its name twice over: once from the rooftop terrace that opens onto the rooftops of the old town, and once from the sea-view Panorama Suite at the top of its room range. In between sits a wellness floor built for actual treatments rather than a token gesture, deep-tissue and sports massages, a steam room, sauna, hot tub and Turkish bath, run on reservation like a destination spa rather than a hotel afterthought. It is a city hotel first, but one that takes the hours spent indoors as seriously as the ones spent exploring Olbia.
We picked Hotel Panorama because it solves a problem most central city hotels don't bother with: somewhere to properly recover after a day on foot. The spa menu, Turkish bath and steam room included, is the kind of offer usually reserved for coastal resorts, not a six-floor hotel two minutes from Piazza Matteotti. Reviewers consistently score the staff and cleanliness near the top of the scale, and the 24-hour gym and rooftop terrace round out a hotel that treats itself less like a stopover and more like a stay in its own right.
The Church of San Paolo and Corso Umberto are a minute's walk, Piazza Matteotti barely two, and the National Archaeological Museum of Olbia is five minutes on foot, which puts the whole of the old centre within an easy loop of the front door. Olbia Station is four minutes away for anyone arriving without a car, and Costa Smeralda Airport is roughly twelve minutes by road, useful on either end of a short Sardinian stay. The port itself is a twenty-minute walk, closer by taxi, which keeps ferry connections and boat excursions within reach without requiring a beachfront address.

The room range runs from compact Single and Double rooms through Superior, Triple and Family configurations to the Panorama Suite, which adds a sitting area and, per its name, the best vantage in the building. Every category keeps the same basics, air conditioning, a safe, a minibar, satellite TV and coffee and tea making, so the real decision is simply how much space and view a stay calls for. Families travelling together are well served by the Triple and Quadruple rooms rather than being squeezed into a double with an extra bed.
Spa treatments run on reservation, so booking a massage or a Turkish bath slot ahead of arrival avoids disappointment during busier weeks. On-site parking is limited and charged separately, which matters in a city-centre hotel where street parking is scarce; arriving by train or pre-booking a space is the simpler route. There is no pool and no full restaurant, so this suits a stay built around the spa, the terrace and Olbia's own restaurants rather than one spent entirely on site.
